The Intentional Dad is a community of men, women, and families learning and living lives of intimate apprenticeship with Jesus. Together, we are learning what it is to be fathered sons and daughters and what it is to then offer the gift of a good father’s heart…a good mother’s heart…to our children, our families, and our communities. The podcast is one of many ways we share in this apprenticeship journey together. We engage in discussion, teaching, and, most importantly, the practice of story. It is in sharing our stories of intimate life with Jesus that we more deeply understand our own journey and invite and encourage those around us for their own journey.

Dad2Dad Collective Podcast with Everett Gutierrez Jr.

The Son Every Father Must Become

What if becoming a better father doesn't begin with learning how to parent, but with becoming the son God created you to be?

In this episode of Dad2Dad Collective, Everett Gutierrez sits down with Aric Manly, author of The Intentional Dad and founder of The Intentional Dad, for a powerful conversation about fatherhood, sonship, healing, identity, and the freedom of living with nothing to prove.

Together, Everett and Aric unpack one of the greatest misconceptions about fatherhood: that being a great dad is simply about mastering the right parenting principles. Instead, this conversation invites fathers to look deeper — into their own identity, wounds, fears, striving, and relationship with God as Father.

Aric shares his personal journey from achievement, ministry, and performance into a deeper understanding of what it means to be a fathered son. Through honest reflection, he challenges men to consider how often they are trying to prove their worth through titles, success, provision, or performance, and how that pressure can quietly shape the way they lead their families.

This episode is an invitation for fathers to stop striving, receive the love of the Father, and begin leading their children from a place of healing, presence, and freedom. Whether you are a new dad, seasoned father, husband, mentor, or man seeking to grow in your faith, this conversation will challenge and encourage you to live from the truth that your worth is not on trial.
